Still Pond Farm is nestled in the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Stanardsville, Virginia.
Designed by renowned landscape architects Wolfgang Oehme and James van Sweden, the farm was built to harmonize with its natural surroundings. Wooded horse trails trace the perimeter of the property, blending seamlessly with the land.
Four spacious paddocks line the main drive, offering easy access to the barns and scenic riding throughout the farm. Each paddock is bordered by open grass and tree-lined trails, allowing horses to be ridden safely around their perimeter. The front, middle, and back paddocks offer beautiful mountain vistas. All paddocks include heated automatic waterers and large run-in sheds with ample space for shelter and rest. Two shaded dry lots and a 60-foot enclosed round pen are also available for daily use.
The stables feature 12’ x 15’ and 12’ x 12’ stalls with heated automatic waterers, a heated tack room, a hot/cold indoor wash bay, and an outdoor wash bay. Boarders enjoy access to wide, well-maintained trails designed for both exercise and leisure riding. With varied terrain, our trails wind through forests, creeks, pastures, meadows, and around our scenic, large natural pond—offering stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains along the way.
We intentionally operate Still Pond Farm as a private, limited-capacity facility to give horses the space, calm, and individualized attention they deserve. With fewer field boarders, our horses enjoy greater peace, quiet surroundings, quality grass and hay, spacious run-ins, and 24-hour access to a stall when needed—all within a low-stress environment that supports their physical and emotional well-being.
